Getting Started

What is SQUADONE?

A shared household calendar and organization hub — calendar, task/chore tracking ("Focus"), lists, meal planning, a photo album, and a family rewards system — built to run on a tablet mounted somewhere central in your home, and also usable from any phone or computer browser.

What devices does it work on?

Any modern browser. For the "mounted on the wall" experience, we recommend installing it to an iPad's Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) so it opens full-screen like a dedicated app. It also works fine on phones and laptops for on-the-go access.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. SQUADONE syncs your household's data in real time across every device using a secure cloud connection, so a stable Wi-Fi connection is recommended at all times.

Do I need to create separate logins for my kids?

No. One adult creates and pays for a single household account. From there, you create a profile for each family member (including kids) right in Settings — no separate email or password needed for them. See "Family, Roles & Kids" below for how that works on shared vs. personal devices.

Billing & Subscription

How does the free trial work?

Every new account gets 7 days free. A valid payment method is required to start the trial, but you will not be charged until the trial ends.

What happens after the trial ends?

Your card is charged automatically for the plan you chose at signup — currently $5.99/month or $59.99/year — and renews on that schedule until you cancel.

Can I switch between the monthly and annual plan?

Use "Manage Subscription" in Settings, which opens Stripe's secure Billing Portal — plan changes are handled there. If you don't see that option, contact us and we can help.

How do I cancel?

Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription, then cancel from Stripe's Billing Portal. This stops all future billing immediately, but you keep full access for the rest of the period you already paid for.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't refund unused time on a period you've already paid for. If you cancel partway through, you simply won't be charged again and keep access until that period ends.

Does canceling delete my data?

No. Canceling only stops billing and, once your paid period ends, restricts access behind the subscribe screen again — it does not erase your calendar, photos, or anything else. Your data is only deleted if you separately request account deletion (see Privacy & Data below).

Family, Roles & Kids

How do kids and teens use the app without their own login?

Each device (iPad, phone, etc.) can be set to a specific family member, or left as a shared device that shows everything. On a device set to a specific child or teen, the app tailors itself to that person automatically — no login required, since it's still all one household account underneath.

What's the difference between Child, Teen, and Adult?

These are permission levels you assign per family member in Settings. Child is the most limited (their own Focus list only, no Settings/Lists/Meals access). Teen has broader access — siblings' Focus lists, Lists, Meal Planner — but not their parents' Focus items or Settings. Adult has full access, same as the main/shared device.

Can my child change settings or delete things?

No. Settings is hidden entirely on Child and Teen devices, and anything destructive (deleting events, tasks, or list items) is locked behind your PIN regardless of role.

What is the PIN lock actually protecting?

It's there to stop accidental changes and deletions by little hands, and to gate reward approvals and switching a device's identity back to Adult — it's a household-friendliness feature, not a security system, the same way a parental passcode on a TV remote works.

Will my teen see my private stuff?

No. On a Teen's own device, the Focus board only shows their own and their siblings' tasks — not their parents'. Settings, which is where account-level and billing details live, is hidden from Teen and Child devices entirely.

Do a child's photos sync to other devices?

Yes. All photos, regardless of who uploads them, go into the same private, household-wide photo album and sync automatically to every device on the account.

Can kids pick their own appearance?

Yes. The palette icon in the tab bar on a Child or Teen's own device lets them choose their own font and color theme, without changing what anyone else in the household sees.

Family Chat & Rewards

What is Family Chat?

A simple private message feed just for your household, found in the SQUAD tab. On a shared device, whoever's posting picks their name from a dropdown; on a personal device, it automatically posts under that person's name.

Will I get a notification for new messages?

There's an unread badge on the SQUAD tab and a preview card on the Dashboard, but SQUADONE doesn't currently send push notifications to your phone for new messages.

How do Focus stars and Rewards work?

Focus items can sit in up to three sections: For the SQUAD tasks earn a star the moment they're checked off, and that's the only category that pays out stars directly. Personal Goals (self-care/responsibility items, shown at the top) and Professional Goals (career/business items, shown at the bottom, opt-in per person) never earn a star on their own — they're about building habits and long-game progress, not being "paid" for basics. In the SQUAD tab, family members can redeem their stars for rewards you've set up (stars are set aside right away). You approve or decline each redemption request with your PIN — declining refunds the stars.

Can Personal Goals or Professional Goals earn stars too?

Optionally, and separately for each. In Settings > Personal Goals and Settings > Professional Goals, you can turn on a daily bonus that awards a flat number of stars to anyone who fully completes that category for the day — entirely your call, off by default, and each category has its own toggle and amount, so a family can turn on one, both, or neither. Either bonus is always on top of SQUAD stars, never a requirement to earn them: SQUAD tasks always pay out immediately regardless of Personal or Professional Goal status.

Can I limit which rewards a child sees?

Yes. When you add a reward in Settings, you check off which profile types can redeem it — Child, Teen, and/or Adult, in any combination, so a reward can cross over (e.g. Teen + Adult). On a Child or Teen's own device, only the rewards checked for that role ever show up. On the shared/adult device, everyone's rewards are visible, but organized into collapsible "Kid Rewards," "Teen Rewards," and "Adult Rewards" folders — Adult Rewards specifically stays behind your Settings PIN even after the folder list is open, so kids browsing the shared device can't stumble onto (or read) a reward you set up for yourself.

Privacy & Data

Is my data private from other SQUADONE households?

Yes. Every household's data is isolated at the database level, not just hidden in the app's interface — no other account can read or write your data.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. We do not sell, share, rent, or distribute your data — or any family member's, including a child's — to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for the full details, including which service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Netlify) are involved in simply running the app.

Can I export my data?

Yes, anytime — Settings → Data → Export Backup.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes — contact us at support@launchmediabrands.com and we'll take care of it. See our Privacy Policy for our current deletion timeline.

Where is my data stored?

In Supabase, our database/authentication/file storage provider. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
